The Department of Linguistics and English organized an Awareness Seminar on the GCE AL English subject on the 24th of June 2023 in the New Exam Hall, Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna. School students, teachers and parents participated in this Seminar.
Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Prof. S. Raguram, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Ms. N. Kavitha, Head, Department of Linguistics & English addressed the gathering.

Dr. M. Thiruvarangan, Senior Lecturer in English Literature, Ms. Erandika de Silva, Lecturer (Probationary) in English Literature and Mr. J. Jathusan, a first-year undergraduate, spoke about the various aspects of the subject.

The speeches and presentations were followed by an open discussion during which the participants sought clarifications from the speakers and presenters as regards the GCE AL English curriculum, modalities of learning and resources and study materials available for students who study this subject.
